Dejavoo terminals are dependable, but every merchant eventually hits a moment where the screen freezes, a receipt jams, or the batch will not close five minutes before you lock up. This guide collects the most common Dejavoo support and manuals questions in one place so you can solve most issues yourself in under a minute — and know exactly who to call when you cannot.
Common Dejavoo models
Dejavoo’s current lineup centers on its Android-based touchscreen “QD” family alongside the longer-running “P” series. The steps in this guide apply across all of them, with only small menu differences:
- QD4 — large-screen countertop terminal with a built-in printer, the workhorse for most retail counters.
- QD2 — compact handheld touchscreen for line-busting, tableside, and mobile use.
- P3 — slim portable terminal ideal for low-volume and pop-up setups.
- P5 — wireless handheld built for restaurants and on-the-go payments.
- P8 — full-size countertop unit with a fast thermal printer for busy shops.
How to reboot or restart
A restart fixes the majority of day-to-day hiccups. Press and hold the power button for roughly ten seconds until the display goes dark, wait a few seconds, then power the terminal back on. If it sits in a charging base, unplug it first so it performs a full cold boot. Give it a minute to reconnect to your network before trying another sale. If a terminal freezes repeatedly, note when it happens and mention it when you call support — it usually points to a connectivity or software-update issue we can resolve remotely.
Running a test transaction
Before a big shift, or right after moving a terminal, run a small test sale to confirm everything is working end to end. Ring up a low amount such as one dollar on your own card, let it authorize, then immediately void or refund it from the transaction menu so nothing settles. A clean approval tells you the card reader, network connection, and processor link are all healthy. If the test declines or times out, the problem is almost always connectivity — jump to the troubleshooting section below.
Reprinting a receipt
Customers lose receipts, and printers run out of paper mid-print. To reprint, open the main menu and look for Reprint (often under Favorites or the Transactions menu). You can usually choose the last receipt or search by transaction, then reprint the merchant or customer copy. Keep a spare roll of thermal paper on hand — most “printer not working” calls turn out to be an empty roll or a roll loaded upside down, since thermal paper only prints on one side.
Settling and batching out
Closing your batch is what actually moves the day’s money toward your bank account. From the home screen open the menu, choose Settlement or Batch, and confirm. The terminal totals every approved sale and closes the batch. We typically enable auto-settlement at a fixed time each night so it happens even on a busy evening, but you can always run it manually. If a batch fails to settle, it is usually a connection drop — run a reboot, confirm your network, and try again.
Connectivity troubleshooting (Wi-Fi & Ethernet)
Most Dejavoo problems trace back to the network. For a Wi-Fi terminal, open Settings, confirm it is joined to the correct network, and re-enter the password if it dropped off — remember that a new router or a changed Wi-Fi password will disconnect the device. For an Ethernet-connected countertop unit, reseat the cable at both ends and confirm the router port has a link light. Power-cycling your modem and router, then rebooting the terminal, clears a surprising share of connection errors. If the terminal still cannot reach the processor after that, it is time to call for help.
Where to get Dejavoo manuals
Official Dejavoo manuals, quick-start cards, and feature guides live on the manufacturer’s support portal, and the correct document depends on your exact model and software build. Because those versions change, the fastest path for our customers is simply to call us — we send the right guide for your specific terminal or walk you through the steps live so you are not stuck matching model numbers to PDFs.
How Caribbean Payments customers get local support
The biggest difference in Dejavoo support is who picks up the phone. Caribbean Payments customers get direct, local Puerto Rico support from people who know your account and your equipment — no overseas call center, no waiting on hold to explain your setup from scratch. Whether you need help settling a batch, replacing a terminal, or adding a new device, we are a quick call away. Explore our Dejavoo payment terminals or contact us to get set up with a terminal that comes with real, local backup.
