What you pay on Square, Stripe, or PayPal today

Current cost on the provider you pick. Choose a published standard rate, enter your monthly card volume and transaction count, and see the fee that rate produces. No Caribbean Payments price is shown here.

Enter monthly card volume and the number of transactions to see an estimate.

Estimate based on standard published pricing as of Nov 3, 2026. The Square rows are the Square Free plan.

This estimates what that published rate costs you now. It is not a Caribbean Payments price and it does not estimate savings.

Example: $20,000 over 400 transactions on the Square Free plan, in person ≈ $580/mo, ≈2.9% effective. That is the published rate, not a savings figure.

What renting means

You are processing under their account

Stripe and Square describe this in their own words, quoted below. You are not opening a merchant account in your business’s name. You process as part of the account those companies hold.

A shared master account

Sales run through the provider’s master merchant account. The business does not hold that account.

Their rules and holds

Payment platforms like these set the rules for the shared account, including when funds are held or reviewed.

They set the price

The provider publishes the rate and can change it under its own terms. Under “Additional Risk Factors,” PayPal’s fee page says PayPal “may raise fees up to 5.00% per transaction with 30 days' notice.”

Their support channels

Questions go through that provider’s support. You are not calling a local Puerto Rico team about an account that is yours.

“When businesses sign up with Stripe, they become submerchants under Stripe's master merchant account”

“Square has a merchant services account with acquiring banks and essentially acts as one giant merchant services account for all businesses that use Square payment processing”

“Standard” here means the published US rate named on the calculator: Square Free plan, Stripe’s standard domestic card rate, and PayPal’s standard card and PayPal Checkout rates. Other published plans are listed in the disclaimer. The calculator does not use custom rates.

Your own account

A merchant account for your business

Caribbean Payments sets up a merchant account in your business’s name. Pricing is reviewed against the statement you send. Nothing on this page is a Caribbean Payments rate, and there is no guarantee you will pay less.

Your own merchant account

You get your own merchant account and merchant ID (MID), underwritten for your business, instead of processing as a sub-merchant on a shared account.

Pricing from your statement

We read the statement you send and walk through what those fees are. The calculator shows the published rate you pay now. It is not our price.

Shopify or any ecommerce site

Gateways for the store you already run

We set up payment gateways such as Authorize.Net and NMI for WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento (Adobe Commerce), and custom sites. Cart connections Authorize.Net lists publicly include Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, and Magento. A documented API covers a custom website.

Shopify charges a third-party transaction fee when you do not use Shopify Payments. On Shopify’s pricing page, reviewed Nov 3, 2026, those fees are Basic 2%, Grow 1%, Advanced 0.6%, and Plus 0.2%. An outside gateway on Shopify is not automatically cheaper. That fee is Shopify’s, on top of processing.

How to download your statement

A monthly statement or the export below is enough for a first look. We read gross volume, the transaction count, and total fees.

  1. Sign in to the Square Dashboard.
  2. Open Reports, or open Transactions.
  3. Export the month you want reviewed.
  4. Gross sales, the number of payments, and fees are enough for a first look.

Does the calculator show a Caribbean Payments rate?

No. It shows the published standard rate for the plan you select. A free savings analysis is a person reading your statement. It is not an automated savings number, and there is no guarantee you will pay less.

Tell us about the business and send the statement when you have it. Select your processor, monthly volume, and transactions below. If you entered numbers in the calculator, those choices are filled in here. A person on our team replies. The calculator is not a Caribbean Payments price and not an automated savings quote.
